Sometimes you find yourself on a wave you didn't want to get on for whatever reason… in this particular instance, fear is the underlying meaning… Ryan is a songwriter but has to now sing his songs and play them in front of people.. to be judged and even disliked. It is a struggle that everyone who needs to do something but is afraid to do something faces. The fear of being what you are. This song does a great job of connecting the dots… while we are afraid, we still have to ride the wave that we are on… I like the lead guitar break in this song… it really opens the feeling of battling it all… the wave cannot be changed or conquered, and it will go where it goes… all we can do is ride it.
