I wrote this when a friends brother was shot and killed in his driveway. I found out when i was watching the First 48. He was followed home from returning a red box and they knocked on the window with a gun to steal his car. He fought back hard. His wife of 15 years and 3 children were still in the house. They shot him and let him die in the driveway. HIs wife awoke in the middle of the night and noticed he had not yet returned. When she went outside she found her husband lying dead on the driveway. I was so moved by this, tormented in a way... I had to write about it, as if something else was inspiring me, I literally felt captivated. This song is what came out. Its written from the perspective of those who have gone on to those who are left behind... Its a song for anyone who has suffered a hard loss in life, but a reminder that the love never dies... "even though the body is cast aside"... Never Forget Donny Frye. One love
